Edgewater opens doors in South Surrey
A new condominium development offering "rustic charm" while allowing residents the chance stay in touch with nature held its official grand opening this month in South Surrey.
Edgwater, set along the Nicomekl River (15185 36 Ave.) amid forested parkland, invited guests and prospective home-buyers to the afternoon event, Saturday, Sept. 17.
The new development has been popular thus far, with 100 homes sold in the first 90 days.
Surrey Coun. Marvin Hunt noted at the grand opening ceremony that it is rare a development designates 80 per cent of the total acreage to green space.
"It is a perfect fit within the community as Edgewater will continue to attract new home buyers to the area, while maintaining the natural landscapes that make South Surrey an ideal place to call home," Hunt said.

Edgewater ups ante when it comes to living with nature
In the appealing South Surrey neighbourhood of Rosemary Heights, an unusual multi-family development is taking shape south of the Nicomekl River.
The Edgewater, from Barber Creek Development Ltd., comprises a 14-acre site bordered by 152 Street and 36 Avenue, and Barber Creek and the Nicomekl, which springs from Langley and wends its way to Mud Bay.
When completed, the Edgewater will be a cluster of five buildings with 201 apartments of mostly one- and twobedrooms.
The first two buildings, with 99 units, are now on the market, with completion of the first slated for the fall of next year.
When the project is fully built, it will mark the near residential build-out of the Rosemary Heights West, directly north of Highway 99 and White Rock.
